New Arrivals - From St Lucia to Martinique

Little Slowy bobbed in Rodney Bay for a couple of days as we swapped the Ducker parents for our antipodean friend Amy who arrived 'bright eyed' on Sunday afternoon after 4 flights from Australia! We were all still busy "relaxing" and getting over our jet lag. After Amy had had a night to rejuvenate her energy we spent the following day moving the boat out to anchor, swimming and soaking up the sun.

Rodney bay hosts the arrival of the famous arc race/rally and everyone there was busily anticipating their imminent arrival. Constructing beer tents, putting up banners and setting up the party base on the beach. The marina became a sea of Digicel and Heineken flags tied to every possible post. Out on anchor for our final night in St Lucia we were lucky enough to watch the first boat crossing the line. We waved our cocktails in the air and cheered them over, although we were slightly drowned out by the Sandels resort playing a medley of The Eagles,Hotel California and Robin Thicke, Blurred Lines on the steel drums!

The following morning, fully stocked with fuel, water and cocktail ingredients, we waved goodbye to St Lucia as the sun was creeping over the horizon and set our course for the final island In the windward chain, Martinique.
Knowing we had a tight time constraint before customs closed we arrived into Marin on the southern end of the island in the nick of time. Freyja and Amy threw the tender into the water and floored it for the customs office. Unfortunately due to slight operated error there was a small incident leading to the tender conking out right in front of some large super yachts doing a wash down! Luckily due to excellent powers of deduction we managed to get it going and sped off to check in!

After a quick trip to the patisserie we returned to the boat for lunch where everyone gorged themselves on copious amounts of French bread. We then headed for the more idyllic setting in the bay of St Anne. Upon anchoring it didn't take us long to vacate the boat and head for the long white beach where we spent the afternoon sipping on piña coladas, playing games and floating in the aquamarine water. Truly relaxing back into the cruising lifestyle.
